The Anambra State security outfit, known as Operation Udo Ga-Achi (Agunechemba), has demolished the Udoka Golden Point Hotel, or “La Cruise Hotel,” along the Onitsha-Owerri Road. Authorities revealed the hotel was a hub for kidnappers and other criminals, with a recent raid uncovering over 30 partitioned graves, a shrine, live ammunition, and other incriminating evidence within the two-story building. This operation is part of a broader crackdown on criminal hideouts in the state, and recovered blood-stained items and live cartridges have been forwarded to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) office in Awkuzu for further investigation.

In a video shared on Sunday, the team leader detailed the shocking findings at the Udoka Golden Point Hotel, stating, “We discovered a shrine, live ammunition, and cartridges while removing a pot used for rituals, which contained blood and has been submitted to the police as evidence.” He noted that the hotel’s top floor housed partitioned graves for over 30 individuals associated with spiritual activities.

Mr. Christian Aburime, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Chukwuma Soludo, confirmed that the hotel’s demolition by Operation Agunechemba stemmed from investigations linking it to kidnapping activities. He explained that local residents had reported frequent gunfire at night but were too fearful to come forward. Aburime emphasized that the recently enacted Homeland Security Law of 2025 empowers citizens and security forces to take decisive action against crime.

He stated, “We are making significant progress in eliminating criminals from Anambra State, with more crime-related buildings set for demolition and their owners prosecuted.” The demolition was met with approval from local residents, who expressed relief and gratitude towards the government for tackling this long-standing issue.
