The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) reported that it successfully rescued residents from a fire that affected the 11th floor of the Ultimate Apartment in Ikoyi. In a statement, LASEMA’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, explained that the agency received a distress call at 10:16 PM on Friday. In response, LASEMA activated its teams from Lekki, Onipan, and the Command and Control Centre in Alausa.

Upon arriving at the scene, LASEMA found that the eleven-storey building known as “The Ultimate Apartments” was engulfed in flames. Investigations indicated that the fire started from a room on the 11th floor, although the exact cause remains undetermined. While the response teams worked to contain the fire and prevent its spread to other apartments, they also educated the occupants about the dangers of smoke during fires. Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported, and the fire has been completely extinguished.
