Last Tuesday, an Assistant Superintendent of Police was decapitated in Aba, as confirmed by the Abia State Police Command. Geoffrey Ogbonna, the State Public Relations Officer, described the act as highly condemnable and dastardly.

He urged the public to provide reliable information regarding the suspects, or anyone who possesses a firearm believed to have been illegally acquired.

Ogbonna condemned the heinous act and called upon the public to assist by providing credible information about the perpetrators or individuals who may be in possession of firearms that are suspected to have been obtained illegally.

He assured that the identity of the informant(s) would be protected.

On Tuesday, May 2, 2023, hoodlums beheaded the ASP in Aba in retaliation for the killing of their kingpin by the police on Sunday, April 23, 2023. They have also threatened to continue creating unrest for both the residents and police in the city.
