Naira Marley posted the messages from 2021 and 2022 on his Instagram Story, where Iyabo invited him to various events, including a memorial for her late mother, and asked for his assistance in promoting the music career of her adopted son and nephew. In one message, she expressed her desire for him to listen to her nephew’s music to determine if it was worth her investment.
Naira Marley responded to Iyabo Ojo’s messages by asking if her nephew could come to see him as soon as possible, apologizing for his late reply. He did not provide any reason for sharing their private conversations.
In response, Iyabo Ojo reposted the screenshots on Instagram, emphasizing her long-standing support for young artists. She detailed how she promoted several artists, including Naira Marley, after his team contacted her through her son in 2020. She highlighted her efforts to support emerging talents, including offering her lounge for shows and connecting them with producers.
Iyabo also expressed her concerns regarding Naira Marley’s silence amid allegations of bullying surrounding the late artist Mohbad, clarifying that while she never accused him of any wrongdoing, she felt the need for him to address the situation. She mentioned being aware of serious allegations against Naira Marley that could be pursued in court if necessary.
