Lagos State Police have arrested two Pakistani leaders of a kidnapping ring after they attempted to abduct a 48-year-old Pakistani man in Ikeja. The arrested suspects, Roman Gull (19) and Adrian Ahmad (28), are part of a seven-member gang, with the others currently on the run.

According to police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin, the duo lured their victim to Lagos with the false promise of a chef job, booking his flight and lodging him at a hotel upon arrival. On February 29, just a day later, Gull and Ahmad, along with five accomplices, overpowered the victim, bound him, and sent a ransom demand of fifty million naira to his employer in Kano. The employer managed to pay one million naira and reported the kidnapping to the police, seeking further assistance.

Police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin reported that officers executing the operation on Wednesday recovered several items from the suspects, including a grey Toyota Camry, two thousand dollars in cash belonging to the victim, three ATM cards, a green card, a driver’s license, and a National Identification Number (NIN) slip. The police continue to pursue the remaining gang members who escaped.
