In 2023, Mmesoma Okonkwo from Nnewi, Anambra State, received the British Council Outstanding Cambridge Learner’s Award for achieving the highest score worldwide in English as a Second Language in the Cambridge IGCSE exam. At the time, she was a final-year student and head girl at Chrisland High School in Lagos. Her achievements include winning the 2022 Lagos State Inter-School Essay Competition and excelling in Humanities at the 2023 Chrisland Group Awards. Her father is an engineer, and her mother is a civil servant.
