Native doctors in Anambra, organized under “Odinala Orumba South,” took an oath at the Izo Mmili shrine in Umunze to reject and exclude any members involved in unethical practices. This initiative follows Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s establishment of the ‘Agunaechemba’ security network aimed at eliminating illicit activities associated with certain native doctors, including those aiding criminals like kidnappers and robbers.

After the oath-taking, Odinala Orumba South Chairman, Mr. Christian Umeh, emphasized their dedication to maintaining ethical standards and rooting out wrongdoing within their ranks. He noted that members unable to participate would have until the following Monday to do so. The LGA Chairman, Mr. Shedrack Azubuike, who attended the event, highlighted its alignment with the governor’s goal of improving safety and prosperity in the state.

Native doctor Mr. John Ahamkonye expressed strong support for the initiative, highlighting the increasing issue of fake native doctors in the community as a significant concern for the group.
