An unidentified woman has tragically died after jumping into the lagoon from the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos State. According to Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, the incident took place around 4 p.m. near the University of Lagos waterfront on Thursday. Following the event, the Marine Police quickly responded, and the woman’s body was eventually recovered at the UNILAG shore slipway.

She was retrieved by a marine police team and later pronounced dead by UNILAG medical doctors, with police from the Sabo division present. Her body has been moved to the Infectious Disease Hospital Mortuary in Yaba for preservation. The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding her death.
